US President Trump: Maybe they will make a deal, maybe they won't, we are winning

US President Donald Trump made statements to the press from the White House regarding the ceasefire process with Iran.

Responding to a question about how the peace talks with Iran are going by stating that he has received numerous reports on the process, Trump said, "As you are likely following, they have been talking for hours. We will see what happens. In any case, we are winning. Whatever happens, we are winning. Maybe they will make a deal, maybe they won't. From the perspective of the US, we are winning." he said.

"Our minesweepers are there and we are clearing them."

Trump said, "We are in very deep negotiations with Iran. In any case, we are winning. We defeated them militarily. They left a few naval mines. These are called water mines for ships. We also overcame all their naval vessels. Their navy lost 158 ships. They had 28 mine-laying ships, all of them were sunk. There are probably a few mines left in the water. Our minesweepers are there and we are clearing them."

Repeatedly emphasizing throughout his brief statement that the US has won the war, Trump said, "We defeated their navy. We defeated their air force. We defeated their air defenses. We defeated their radars. We defeated their leaders. All their leaders are dead. Now the only thing we will do is open the Strait."

"If China does something like this, it will face major problems."

When asked by a reporter about reports that China is preparing to supply weapons to Iran, Trump replied, "If China does something like that, they will face major problems."
