As the countdown continues for the US presidential election on November 5, Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump held a campaign rally in the city of Salem, Virginia.
Expressing his confidence in the election results in Virginia, Trump said, "If we win Virginia, we will undoubtedly win everywhere." Emphasizing that he was in Virginia because he believes he can win the state, Trump stated, "The polls show we will win. We will win everywhere with the popular vote." Asking for support from Virginian voters, Trump added, "I am just asking you for a small thing called a vote." he said.

Criticizing the policies of his Democratic rival Kamala Harris, Trump argued that the national economy is showing signs not of a "recession," but of a "depression." Trump claimed that he is the only candidate capable of saving the economy.
Stating that the Black population living in the US is negatively affected by illegal immigrants taking over jobs and resources, Trump said, "You should take a look at these numbers. It is a truly terrible thing" he said.

In his speech, Trump also referred to the assassination attempt he previously survived. Saying that he could be enjoying life anywhere in the world while instead fighting for the presidency, Trump reminded the audience that because of this, "a small piece of his ear is missing." he reminded.

Stating that the tax and credit policies he would implement if elected would "make life easier for Americans," Trump "There will be no taxes on Social Security benefits and tax credits," he said. Noting that he plans to "start more oil drilling" to end inflation, Trump promised to cut energy bills in half within a year. Criticizing the border security policies of the administration of US President Joe Biden and US Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump said, "While we save our economy, I will also secure our borders" he added.
