US pressure on Israel regarding Turkey

The US is demanding that Turkey and Qatar be involved in the process of restructuring Gaza. While Washington is planning to include Turkish soldiers in the coordination center on the Gaza border, Israel opposes this idea, stating that "Turkish military presence is a red line for us."

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that they have held positive discussions with Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates. The goal of these discussions is to establish an international stabilization force that will ensure the security of Gaza.

The US administration views the inclusion of Muslim-majority countries in this plan as an important element. Israel's opposition to this situation is complicating the peace plan, and the US has begun to pressure Israel on this matter.

US SUPPORT FOR TURKEY'S ROLE IN GAZA

Rubio emphasized that they want Ankara to contribute to the planned multinational security mechanism and that it could take on an important role in Gaza peace. Washington plans to include Turkish and Qatari military liaison officers in the new Civil-Military Coordination Center established in the Israeli city of Kiryat Gat.

A US official stated that representatives from the armies of Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and possibly the UAE would serve at this center. Making a similar defense for Qatar, the US Secretary of State expressed that they want Doha to continue its constructive role in ending the conflict.

Former US diplomat Robert Silverman said this approach serves Washington's strategic interests. Silverman stated, "This plan aims to gain the approval of countries that support the Palestinians. The participation of Turkey and Qatar is a critical element in isolating Hamas."

However, Israel is completely opposed to the potential participation of Turkey and Qatar. In a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, the phrase "Turkish military presence is a red line" was used. Benjamin Netanyahu, in his meeting with the Egyptian intelligence chief, stated that this stance is also shared by Cairo and said, "Our security is under our control. Israel determines which international forces are unacceptable."
