US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated, "We stand with Israel," regarding the attacks that began in Gaza on October 7, 2023, in which Israel has killed over 41,000 civilians to date.

In a press statement marking the first anniversary of October 7, US Secretary of State Blinken said, "Hamas's attacks on October 7 ignited a year of conflict that has had tragic consequences for the Palestinian people."
MESSAGE OF SUPPORT
Noting that it is time to sign a ceasefire agreement between the parties, Blinken also argued that the international community must take a firm stance against those who support Hamas.
Blinken stated, "The United States stands with Israel as it defends itself against terrorism."
Stating that some US citizens are among the hostages still held by Hamas, Blinken called for their immediate release.
