US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband in the capital, Washington, DC.
According to a statement regarding the meeting by US Department of State Spokesperson Tommy Pigott, the parties discussed the importance of Europe assuming greater responsibility for its own security.
It was also noted that during the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to ensuring the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as their determination that Iran must never develop or acquire a nuclear weapon.
