US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated in an interview with the US press that due to US sanctions, Iranian airlines would struggle to operate globally within 2 days, declaring, "All Iranian airlines will cease their operations worldwide."
Targeting countries that permit flights by Iranian airlines, Bessent said, "If they land in your country, you cannot provide them with fuel, you cannot offer landing services, you cannot sell tickets; otherwise, you will be cut off from the dollar system."
