As conflicts between Israel and Iran continue, the US has taken action to evacuate its citizens from Israel. US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee announced that they are working on evacuation flights and ship voyages for US citizens who wish to leave Israel.
In a post on his social media account, Huckabee stated, "Emergency alert; US citizens who wish to leave Israel, the US Embassy in Israel is working on evacuation flights and passenger ship voyages."
Huckabee noted that US citizens should register with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), but did not announce when the evacuations would begin.
The US Department of State announced yesterday that it had established a 24-hour task force to provide support to its citizens in the Middle East.
