Speaking at the National Space Council meeting, Harris shared the information that an astronaut from another country will be included in the NASA astronaut team to be sent to the Moon.

While Harris did not specify which country the astronaut would be from, she noted that they plan to land an international astronaut on the lunar surface within 10 years as part of the Artemis program.

In the context of the Artemis Mission, it is planned to send 4 astronauts to the Moon in December 2025 to conduct scientific research.

Within the framework of the same program, the US envisions establishing a permanent base on the Moon and using the Moon both as a stopover for the journey to Mars and for the extraction of valuable minerals there.
