The US will send another aircraft carrier to the region following the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Reports in the US press, citing unnamed officials, stated that the US Navy's USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier was planned to be deployed to Europe next week, but due to the Iran-Israel conflicts, the ship will instead be deployed to a location near Israel in the Eastern Mediterranean.

With the deployment of the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier to the Eastern Mediterranean, the number of US aircraft carriers stationed in the region near the Middle East will rise to 3.

The aircraft carrier is expected to operate for a period alongside the USS Carl Vinson, which is currently continuing its mission in the region, and the USS Nimitz, which will take over the duties of the USS Carl Vinson.

"I WILL KEEP IT CLASSIFIED"

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth spoke about potential US intervention in the conflicts between Iran and Israel. Speaking at a US Senate committee hearing, Hegseth did not give a clear answer to Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen's question regarding whether a military operation would be conducted in Iran. Hegseth avoided making an assessment, saying, "I will keep most of what I can say classified." Secretary Hegseth also stated that "maximum force protection is always provided" to ensure the safety of US troops abroad.
