US Vice President Vance criticizes Ukrainian leader Zelenskyy

In a statement to the British Daily Mail, JD Vance reacted to Zelenskyy's remark that Trump "lives in the disinformation space created by Russia."

Warning Zelenskyy "not to attack Trump" and stating that the harsh words he used would backfire, Vance remarked, "The idea that Zelenskyy is going to change the President's mind by saying bad things about him in the media is a thought that anyone who knows him (Trump) would say is a terrible way to deal with this (Washington) administration."

Criticizing Zelenskyy for receiving poor advice regarding contacts with the new US administration, Vance stated, "We love the Ukrainian people, of course. We respect their brave soldiers. But we also think that this war needs to end as soon as possible."

"This is the policy of the US President. It is not based on Russian disinformation," said Vance, noting that Trump has a very strong understanding of geopolitics.

US President Trump had previously criticized Zelenskyy for not holding elections in his country, saying, "Zelenskyy, a dictator who does not hold elections, had better hurry up or he will lose his country."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had said that Trump, who claimed that the support his people gave him was 4 percent, "lives in the disinformation space created by Russia."
