US Vice President Vance: We need to ensure Orban is re-elected

US Vice President James David Vance spoke at a "Friendship Day" rally alongside Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Addressing the crowd during a two-day visit aimed at supporting Orban ahead of the critical parliamentary elections to be held in Hungary on Sunday, Vice President Vance called US President Donald Trump at the beginning of his speech. Vance handed the floor to Trump, saying, "You are currently live with five thousand Hungarian patriots, and I think they love you even more than they love Viktor Orban."

"The US is with Orban all the way"

In his remarks via phone, US President Trump said, "I love Hungary and I love Viktor (Orban). He is a wonderful person. We have a great relationship and he is doing his job."

Praising Orban for implementing strict immigration policies despite pressure from the EU, Trump said, "He didn't let people flood into your country and invade your country, like other countries have done. He kept your country well. He kept the Hungarian people in your own country. He did a great job. I love him very much. I wouldn't be making this call if I didn't think he was doing a good job."

Trump stated, "I am a big fan of Viktor and I am with him all the way. The US is with Orban all the way."

Declaring his full support for Orban ahead of the elections on Sunday, April 12, where a tough contest is expected between the Fidesz party led by Orban and the Tisza party led by pro-European opposition leader Peter Magyar, Trump said, "You have a leader who keeps your country strong and good. You don't have the problems that other countries have because they let their countries be invaded. You don't have that, because you have Viktor Orban. That is the only reason."

"We need to ensure Orban is re-elected"

Addressing the crowd after Trump, Vice President Vance said, "We need to ensure Orban is re-elected." Vance added, "We want you to decide about your future without any outside pressure. I am not telling you who to vote for. I am telling you that you should listen to your heart and soul, not the bureaucrats in Brussels."

He directed harsh criticism at radical left-wing ideology

Directing harsh criticism at the radical left-wing ideology in the Western world, Vance said, "Followers of this ideology view Western society as flawed and not worth reforming. They see the foundation of our shared civilization as illegitimate. They see not a legacy to be proud of in Western history, but only injustice."

Vance stated, "The most radical among them are tearing down monuments of our national heroes and pouring fake blood on valuable works of art in museums. They are organizing assassination attempts on law enforcement and setting churches on fire. They declare that they will never have children so as not to increase their carbon footprint."

"We love Europe"

Stating that they are not against Europe, but against the bureaucrats who open the continent to millions of unchecked foreigners, Vance said, "We love Europe. How could we not? The US was born from this continent. We love the people and culture of Europe. We love its architecture and its magnificent history. But because we love this culture and these peoples, we reject the bureaucrats who raise your energy costs and open the country to millions of unchecked foreigners. President Trump and I stand with Europe. We stand for sovereignty. We stand with Hungary. We stand with Viktor Orban, the man who defends Europe's values more than anyone else."

"Go to the polls and stand with Viktor Orban"

Describing Hungarian Prime Minister Orban as a true leader who takes pride in his country's history, culture, and way of life, Vance said, "Go to the polls this weekend and stand with Viktor Orban. Because he stands with you. God bless Hungary. God bless the United States."

"We have a common problem, and the name of that problem is Brussels"

Orban, for his part, stated that relations between Hungary and the US are experiencing a golden age, noting that strong political and commercial ties are the result, not the cause, of these relations. Saying that US President Trump ended the rule of globalist ideological forces and declared an era of strong nations, Orban said, "Trump called on all patriots in the world to fight with these words: Being a patriot is not a sin, it is a virtue. The President showed that patriotic politics can be successful and that there can be a successful governance practice. Under his presidency, the US put its own interests first and restored honor to national politics."

Stating that both Americans and Hungarians are concerned about the future of Western civilization, Orban said, "We have a common problem, and the name of that problem is Brussels. The progressive forces of the Western world have lost two important wars. First, they lost in Hungary. This paved the way for other Central European countries. Then they took a massive blow. They lost overseas thanks to President Trump, Vice President Vance, the Republican Party, and the American people. They withdrew from there and settled in Brussels."

"Their dream is to send young people to the Eastern Front under EU flags"

Arguing that the ideology represented by Brussels keeps the European Union, which has Christian foundations, bound and instead imposes the ideology that gender is a social rather than biological role, far-left ideology, and migration, Orban said, "They want to make these the regulatory power of Europe and persecute their political opponents. They use EU institutions to silence anyone who threatens their power."

Orban said, "They want to continue the war in Ukraine despite the threat of slowly but surely crippling the continent. They say they will support the Ukrainians to the end. They don't even hide it. Their dream is to send young people to the Eastern Front under EU flags. Now, while the world's energy supply is on the verge of collapse, they are introducing new sanctions instead of peace. This is not only irresponsible, but also suicidal. If it continues like this, energy prices in Europe will skyrocket. Then European reserves will be depleted. They turned a blind eye when the Ukrainians blew up Nord Stream. Now, while the Ukrainians are imposing an oil blockade on Hungary, Brussels is supporting the Ukrainians, not us. Make no mistake, they will try to downplay the attempt to attack TurkStream as well."

"Europe is under the threat of both a financial crisis and an energy crisis"

Orban said, "We are being sanctioned because we are the only European country that draws attention to Europe's policies that are to its own detriment and the games played by the Ukrainians. We are facing sanctions and fines of one million euros a day for protecting our borders. Europe is under the threat of both a financial crisis and an energy crisis. If it does not change, Europe will be the loser of both crises."

Stating that they must fight the progressives in Brussels and end the Russia-Ukraine war to save Western civilization, Orban said, "The elections to be held in Hungary on Sunday are not just about us. In these elections, we are choosing our future. This election is about which path we want to continue on."

Calling on voters to stand up for Hungary's freedom, Orban stated, "The other path leads to a world where we lose our independence, are cut off from our friends, and ultimately become irrelevant, where we are ordered to arm ourselves, send soldiers to war, and send money to Ukraine."
