Boeing 747 makes emergency landing in the US

An Atlas Air Boeing 747 cargo plane that took off from Miami International Airport in the US was forced to make an emergency landing after sparks were seen flying from the aircraft shortly after takeoff.

In a statement released by Atlas Air, it was stated that the aircraft experienced an "engine malfunction shortly after takeoff" last night and landed back on the ground safely.

SPARKS FLYING FROM WING ENGINE

Footage circulating on social media shows the aircraft moving while sparks fly from its left wing engine immediately after taking off from the airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration stated that the aircraft had taken off for Puerto Rico, reported an engine malfunction shortly thereafter, and subsequently returned safely to Miami International Airport.
