A dangerous encounter occurred between Russian and US fighter jets in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone. A Russian Su-35 fighter jet nearly caused an accident by approaching a US fighter jet that was intercepting Russian military aircraft in a dangerous manner.
In the footage shared by the US, it was seen that the Russian fighter jet, which passed dangerously close to the US fighter jet, caused the US aircraft to maneuver and move away from the area.
General Gregory Guillot, Commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and US Northern Command, condemned the incident, stating, “On September 23, 2024, NORAD aircraft flew a safe and disciplined intercept of Russian military aircraft in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone.
The conduct of one Russian Su-35 pilot was unsafe, unprofessional, and endangered all—not what you’d see in a professional air force.”
