In a statement issued by the Syrian Ministry of Defense, it was reported that Israel launched an airstrike from the direction of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights targeting civilian areas south of the Syrian capital, Damascus.
The statement provided no information regarding the number of casualties or injuries.
Reports in the Syrian press had indicated that the Sayeda Zeinab area was targeted in the attack.
