Russia conducts drill with nuclear-capable missile: The weapon NATO calls a 'serious threat'

The Russian military has released footage of a drill involving the 'Yars' intercontinental ballistic missile, which has nuclear strike capabilities, in the Volga region. It is known that the Yars is considered a serious 'threat' by NATO. Previously, NATO experts sent reports to the leaders of member countries urging the development of technologies capable of intercepting the Yars.

In a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, it was noted that a drill was carried out in the Volga River region with the 'Yars' intercontinental nuclear ballistic missile. It was stated that the missiles were deployed to "combat patrol routes" under camouflage.

It was reported that the missile unit carried out dispersal tasks in a wooded area to increase the stealth of the Yars missile launchers. The units also conducted defense drills against sabotage groups.

The shared footage showed the nuclear missiles moving through a snow-covered forest. Russia's move was interpreted as a 'nuclear warning' and an 'intimidation of the West' at a time when tensions with the West over Ukraine remain high.

Russia's Yars missile is known as a highly advanced weapon system in the intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) class, with the capacity to carry nuclear warheads.
