Volcanic activity at Mount Etna
Mount Etna, one of the active volcanoes in southern Italy, has erupted with powerful ash and lava.

Volcanic activity, which was intense last month at the approximately 3,300-meter-high Mount Etna on the island of Sicily, continues.
According to a statement from the Etna Observatory of the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the volcano's active southeast crater erupted with powerful ash and lava yesterday evening.
The INGV noted that the volcanic activity at Etna remained limited to the southeast crater.
Meanwhile, media reports indicated that a red alert was issued for aircraft passing through the region due to the ash spewed by the mountain; however, flight traffic at Fontanarossa Airport in Catania was not negatively affected.
It was stated that the powerful lava flow at Etna could also be observed from surrounding cities such as Catania and Taormina.
Mount Etna, which holds the distinction of being the highest active volcano in continental Europe, also erupted with ash and lava on November 13 and 26.
