It has been announced that 3 people have lost their lives in Greece in the last week due to the West Nile virus.

In a statement from the National Public Health Organization of Greece (EODY), it was noted that 12 new cases of West Nile virus have been detected in the country in the last week.

The statement indicated that 3 people have died due to the virus in the past week.

Pointing out that the number of West Nile virus cases detected in the country since the beginning of the year has risen to 192, the statement noted that there could be an increase in cases.

The statement reported that the cases were mostly seen in Larissa, Lefkada, Preveza, Chalkidiki, Pella, Pieria, Serres, Rhodope, Drama, Evros, Xanthi, Kavala, Thasos, and Athens.
