The 14-point proposal remains on the agenda in the ongoing diplomatic contacts between Iran and the US, mediated by Pakistan. Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated in an interview with state television that various reports regarding the content of the proposal and the process do not reflect the truth.
In his statement on the matter, Baghaei said, “The US side has conveyed its views on the plan proposed by Iran to the Pakistani side. These views are currently being reviewed.”
Spokesperson Baghaei specifically denied media allegations that Iran would clear mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Regarding the issue, he stated, “The 14-point proposal focuses on ending the war. The proposed framework is based primarily on a pause, followed by addressing the details over a 30-day period. The nuclear issue is not included in these points. The claims that Iran has committed to clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz are fabrications by the media.”
Baghaei emphasized that they do not accept the negotiations being conducted under any ultimatum and stated that if any agreement is reached, Iran's own power on the ground is the greatest guarantee.
