US President Donald Trump participated in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos via teleconference and delivered a speech. Stating that they would negotiate with Saudi Arabia to lower oil prices, the US President also informed NATO countries that they would need to allocate 5 percent of their budgets to NATO defense. Trump added that Canada and Mexico would be subject to new customs duties.
Stating that the new cabinet is working to fix the 'economic chaos' in the US, Trump claimed that he would make the US 'stronger, richer, and more united than ever before.'
Providing information regarding the economic policies he will pursue in his new term, Trump stated that he aims to lower oil and natural gas prices, will eliminate capital controls, will introduce tax cuts for domestic producers, and will impose additional customs duties on foreign goods.
Sending a message to NATO countries as well, Trump emphasized that member countries must allocate a 5 percent share of their budgets for the defense of the alliance.
On the other hand, the US President once again reminded that he would impose additional customs duties on products imported from Mexico and Canada. Stating that his 'messages are quite simple,' Trump announced that 'they will lower the costs for those producing domestically, and the profit margins of products coming from abroad will decrease.'

Trump included the following statements in his speech:
''This has been a truly historic week in the United States. I took the oath of office three days ago and we have launched America's Golden Age.
The last presidential election was won by millions of votes and with the support of all seven swing states. The American people have given (the Trump administration) support not seen in a long time.
And some political pundits, including my enemies, have said that this is the most significant election victory seen in 129 years. That is quite nice. What the world has witnessed in the last 72 hours is nothing short of a revolution of common sense.
With this support, and as a result of what we have done and will do; our country will soon be stronger, richer, and more united than ever before; and the entire planet will be more peaceful and prosperous.
My administration is moving at an unprecedented speed to fix the disasters we inherited from a group of completely incompetent people and to solve every crisis our country is facing.
The previous government (Biden administration) engaged in 8 trillion dollars of wasteful deficit spending over the last four years. It implemented energy restrictions, crippling regulations, and 'hidden' taxes that ruined the nation like never before.
The result is that we faced the worst inflation crisis in modern history. The exorbitant interest rates our citizens were subjected to; and even food prices all over the world; and the price of almost everything known to humanity skyrocketed.''
