White House denies reports that use of nuclear weapons against Iran is being considered

The White House has denied reports that the use of nuclear weapons against Iran is being considered.

In a post on the official White House Rapid Response X account, the administration addressed reports claiming that U.S. Vice President James David Vance, in his remarks in Hungary, implied that U.S. President Donald Trump is considering the use of nuclear weapons against Iran, stating that there was no such implication in the remarks in question.

Quoting a report that alleged Vance implied the use of nuclear weapons, the Rapid Response account stated, "None of what James David Vance said here 'implies' that, you are a bunch of absolute fools."

Vance, during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Hungary, had said, "Iran has never been a party that is very quick in negotiations, and they still are not.

We are confident that Iran will provide a positive or negative response before 8:00 PM (Eastern Time).

I hope they give the right answer, because we really want a world where oil and gas flow freely. They should know that we have tools in our toolbox that we have not yet decided to use. The U.S. President may decide to use these tools, and if the Iranians do not change their stance, he will use them."
