According to the Israeli press, the US has conveyed the message to Iran that "they will defend Israel if it retaliates."
Speaking to Israel's Channel 12 television, a senior White House official said, "Israel has responded to the Iranian attack, and from our perspective, it should end at this point. If Iran retaliates, we will defend Israel."
The official added, "We are ready, and there will be consequences. This message has also been conveyed to Iran."
ISRAEL'S ATTACK ON IRAN
Iran had launched a missile attack on Israel on October 1. The Tel Aviv administration had announced that this attack by Iran would be met with a response.
Iranian media announced overnight that Israel had targeted some military bases in the west and southwest of Tehran and that air defense systems had responded. The Israeli army also announced that it had carried out attacks on military targets in Iran.
A few hours after the attacks, loud explosion sounds were heard again in Tehran. Iranian state television stated that the sounds came from the east of Tehran and were caused by missiles fired from air defense systems against Israel's attack.
Following the attacks, Iran announced that it had closed its airspace until further notice.
The Iranian Emergency Center noted that there were no reports of any injuries in the attacks.
The Israeli army, on the other hand, announced that the attack they carried out against Iran had been completed.
