In the US, Senator Bernie Sanders stated in a post on X, "Next week, I will be bringing a series of Joint Resolutions of Disapproval (JRDs) to the Senate floor to block the sale of certain offensive weapons to Israel."

Sanders argued that there is no doubt that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is waging a "barbaric war" against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and is "clearly violating" US and international law.

CALL TO CONGRESS

Noting that the resolution will be voted on next week, Sanders said, "The war in Gaza has been conducted almost entirely with American weapons and 18 billion dollars of US taxpayer money."

Stating that the US cannot continue to be "complicit" in this war by providing more military aid and weapons to the Netanyahu government, Sanders assessed that "Congress must act to block these arms sales."
