World Economic Forum begins in Riyadh with Gaza on the agenda
The World Economic Forum, hosted by Saudi Arabia, has begun for a two-day session. The forum's agenda includes the attacks launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip on October 7.

Saudi Arabia is hosting world leaders and ministers. The World Economic Forum (WEF), which will last for 2 days in the capital Riyadh, began today.
Sessions on various topics were held at the forum, which no officials from Israel attended.
The Gaza-focused meeting to be held tomorrow within the framework of the forum will be attended by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, and Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, as well as the foreign ministers of France, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt.
''THE REGION NEEDS STABILITY''
Saudi Minister of Finance Mohammed al-Jadaan and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva participated in a session discussing the approaches necessary to revitalize economic growth following the successive crises of the recent period.
Stating that the attacks on the Gaza Strip and the conflicts in Ukraine are putting too much pressure on the economy, Saudi Minister Al-Jadaan said, “I think cool-headed countries, leaders, and people need to come together. The region needs stability.”
Stating that the world is currently walking a tightrope trying to balance security and prosperity, Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Al-Ibrahim said, “We have gathered at a time when a wrong decision, a miscalculation, or a miscommunication will further increase our challenges.”
Speaking in another session, WEF President Borge Brende said, “There is new momentum in the talks regarding the hostages, and I think a way has been found out of the impasse we are facing in Gaza.”
SAUDI ARABIA AND GATES FOUNDATION JOIN FORCES FOR CHILDREN
In a statement made by Saudi Arabia and the “Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation,” it was announced that they have joined forces to help treat polio, protect 370 million children annually, and lift millions of children out of poverty in 33 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) member countries.
