Zakharova mocks Biden: The pro-Russian candidate
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova mocked US President Joe Biden for introducing Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy as 'Putin' at the NATO summit. Zakharova called him the "pro-Russian candidate managed by the Kremlin."

In a Telegram post, Zakharova wrote, "I think it is no longer possible to hide the legendary 'Russian interference in American elections.' The pro-Russian candidate controlled by the Kremlin is right there."
During his speech at the 'Ukraine Compact' signing ceremony held as part of the NATO summit in Washington, US President Biden introduced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the podium by saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin."
