Zelensky: We view the 30-day emergency ceasefire positively

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that they view the U.S. proposal for a 30-day ceasefire positively, saying, "The U.S. also needs to convince Russia. So we are in agreement; if the Russians agree, this silence (ceasefire) will go into effect at that moment."

Zelensky evaluated the meeting held between U.S. and Ukrainian delegations in Saudi Arabia in a video message he shared.

Describing the meeting in question as positive, Zelensky stated that many important details were discussed during the talks.

Recalling that the U.S. proposed a 30-day ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war, Zelensky said, "Ukraine accepts this proposal; we view it positively. We are ready to take such a step, and the U.S. needs to convince Russia as well. So we are in agreement; if the Russians agree, this silence (ceasefire) will go into effect at that moment."

Noting that if the ceasefire is achieved, they will hold talks with the U.S. and other allies within those 30 days, Zelensky stated that they would work on security guarantees and sustainable peace for Ukraine.

In his message, Zelensky said, "Ukraine is ready for peace. Russia also needs to show its willingness to either stop the war or continue it."
