Zelenskyy dismisses head of State Security Administration following assassination allegations
Taking action after the Ukrainian intelligence service arrested two members of the State Security Administration on suspicion of plotting an assassination, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed the head of the State Security Administration of Ukraine.

Following the recent arrest of two colonels serving in the State Security Administration of Ukraine by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed Head of the State Security Administration Serhii Rud via a published decree.
No new appointment has been made yet to replace Rud, who had been in office since 2019.
The SBU had announced the exposure of five agents of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) who were preparing an assassination attempt against Zelenskyy and other high-ranking military and political officials, and had arrested two colonels of the State Security Administration of Ukraine who were alleged to have leaked information to Russian intelligence.
