Zelenskyy gives date for Russia's new offensive

As 2 years have passed since the war Russia launched against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a press conference in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.

Zelenskyy said that Russia is preparing for a new offensive against Ukraine in late May or the summer months, but that his own war plan is clear. Zelenskyy stated, "Russia will prepare counter-offensive actions at the beginning of the summer or at the end of May.

Stating that he is confident the US Congress will approve a new military and financial aid package, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine needs this decision within a month.

Stating that Ukraine needs the West's support in its war against Russia, Zelenskyy announced that the European Union has provided only 30 percent of the 1 million rounds of ammunition it promised.

Zelenskyy stated that he has a clear plan to counter Russian forces but will not disclose details that could jeopardize it, saying, "There is a plan, the plan is clear. I cannot tell you the details."

"31 THOUSAND UKRAINIAN SOLDIERS KILLED"

Zelenskyy announced that at least 31 thousand Ukrainian soldiers have lost their lives in the Russia-Ukraine War to date, saying, "31 thousand Ukrainian soldiers were killed in this war. Not 300 thousand, not 150 thousand. But still, this is a great loss for us."

Challenging the high numbers provided by Russia regarding Ukraine's losses in the war, Zelenskyy stated that he could not disclose the number of wounded soldiers, as this would be information that would help Russia. Zelenskyy also stated that tens of thousands of civilians have been killed in the occupied regions of his country.
