Work is ongoing on a precious metals agreement concerning rare earth elements that US President Donald Trump wants to obtain from Ukraine in exchange for the military aid provided.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a memorandum of understanding regarding the precious metals agreement being negotiated between the two countries could be signed online on Thursday, noting that the proposal for the memorandum to be signed before a comprehensive agreement—which would require approval by the Ukrainian parliament—came from the US.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian Minister of Economy and First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko had reported earlier that Ukraine and the US had made "significant progress" in talks regarding the precious metals agreement and that they would sign a deal in the near future.
