Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a statement regarding his meeting with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who is in the capital Kyiv as part of an official visit to Ukraine. In a post on his social media account, Zelenskyy said, "I met with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and presented him with the Ukrainian Order of Merit, Second Class. I thank both Turkey and the Minister for their efforts toward achieving peace."

Stating that he briefed Minister Fidan on the course of the Russia-Ukraine War, Zelenskyy said, "Today, we discussed the diplomatic process and steps that could revitalize efforts to achieve peace. I informed him about the latest situation on the front line. Mr. Fidan also shared his assessments regarding the diplomatic contacts he has been conducting at various levels."

The Ukrainian leader added, "We also discussed our bilateral relations and the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Turkey. We expect the trade volume between the two countries to continue to grow. I thank him for his visit and his support for the advancement of peace through our cooperation."
