Zelenskyy: We have received a Patriot system from Israel

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy answered questions from members of the press in Kyiv, where he arrived following his meetings in the United States.

Stating that Ukraine will respond to potential Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure in the coming months, Zelenskyy said, "If Russia plans to cause a blackout in Ukraine this winter, I am not sure that the response from Ukraine and its partners will be the same."

Russia needs to know that the difference between civilized countries and barbarians is that the civilized ones are not the first to attack and do not show aggression. However, this does not mean they are weak. If they threaten to leave the Ukrainian capital in the dark, the Kremlin should know that the Russian capital will also remain in the dark."

Zelenskyy noted that he also discussed this issue during his meeting with President Donald Trump in New York.

"PATRIOT SYSTEM RECEIVED FROM ISRAEL"

Zelenskyy further told reporters that his country had received a Patriot air defense system from Israel and that this system has been protecting Ukrainian skies for a month. The Ukrainian leader stated, "The Patriot system received from Israel has been active in Ukraine for a month. We will receive two more Patriot systems in the autumn," but did not provide details regarding where the new deliveries would come from.

Ukraine's acquisition was considered a surprise by various Europe-based media outlets, as Ukraine had recently voted in favor of a resolution at the United Nations (UN) demanding an end to Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories.

"HUNGARY IS DOING VERY DANGEROUS THINGS"

In his statement, Zelenskyy also addressed allegations that a Hungarian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) violated Ukrainian airspace yesterday. The Ukrainian leader remarked, "I think they are doing very dangerous things. Things that are, first and foremost, very dangerous for themselves."

Hungary had previously denied the incident. Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto stated on his social media account yesterday, "Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is losing his mind due to his obsession with anti-Hungarian sentiment. Now he has started seeing things that do not actually exist."
