11 killed in Israeli strike near UAE Maternity Hospital in Rafah
The Israeli army carried out an attack near a hospital in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, leaving 11 people dead, including two healthcare workers, and 50 others injured.
According to a written statement from the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Israel launched an airstrike on tents housing displaced Palestinians near the entrance of the UAE Maternity Hospital, located in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood of Rafah.
The attack killed 11 people, including first responder Abdulfattah Abu Meri and nurse Salim Juma Sharab, and left 50 others injured.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza accuses Israel of deliberately targeting ambulances, hospitals, and healthcare workers during its attacks on Gaza since October 7.
A large number of healthcare personnel have been killed and injured in these attacks so far.
The city of Rafah has become the most crowded city in Gaza after Israel forcibly displaced the population to the south, claiming it was a "safe zone."
