CHP Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler has been detained and taken to the police station as part of an investigation into "rigging a tender."

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made a statement regarding Köseler's detention.

Reacting to the dawn operation conducted against Köseler, İmamoğlu stated, "Conducting a home raid at 4:00 AM on a mayor who would have come running if summoned to testify, regardless of the accusation against him, is nothing more than a reflection of personal ambition and anger."

In his statement on his X account, İmamoğlu noted the following:

"Our Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler was detained following a police raid on his home around 4:00 AM. Our mayor, whose home was raided while he was sleeping with his wife, is currently in custody. Conducting a home raid at 4:00 AM on a mayor who would have come running if summoned to testify, regardless of the accusation against him, is nothing more than a reflection of personal ambition and anger. These practices bring nothing to our country or our nation."
