Statement from İYİ Party leader Müsavat Dervişoğlu regarding the collapsed building! 'This tragic incident shows that...'

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu stated regarding the collapse of a 3-story building in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, "Unfortunately, the issue of building and zoning inspection in our country is still being evaluated not in terms of life safety, but in terms of rent-seeking."

In a statement on his social media account, Dervişoğlu wished a speedy recovery to those rescued from the collapsed building in Küçükçekmece and noted the following:

"I wish a speedy recovery to our citizens who were rescued from the building that collapsed in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul.

This tragic incident shows that;

Unfortunately, the issue of building and zoning inspection in our country is still being evaluated not in terms of life safety, but in terms of rent-seeking.

On this occasion, I invite all those responsible, especially the relevant ministries and local governments,

To take a stance in line with the vitality, urgency, and seriousness of the situation,

Before Turkey experiences another earthquake disaster that it will remain buried under."
