Kılıçdaroğlu reacts to Court of Cassation's criminal complaint against Constitutional Court members

The Court of Cassation has filed a criminal complaint against members of the Constitutional Court regarding the Constitutional Court's ruling on the violation of rights in the case of Can Atalay. This decision marks a first in the history of the Republic of Turkey.

The ruling by the Constitutional Court (AYM) for the release of Can Atalay, who was elected as a TİP MP for Hatay in the May 14 general elections, was not recognized by the Court of Cassation. Stating that the Constitutional Court had violated the Constitution and exceeded its authority, the 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation also filed a criminal complaint against the Constitutional Court members who voted in favor of the violation ruling regarding Atalay.

REACTION FROM KEMAL KILIÇDAROĞLU

Sharing a post on his social media account regarding this development, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu expressed his reaction with the words, "It is not just the Palace that violates the constitution in our country."

Kılıçdaroğlu, who officially handed over his duties as Chairman to Özgür Özel, wrote the following:

In our country, it is not just the Palace that violates the constitution; now, the Palace's judges have also reached a point where they do not recognize the constitution. Only those who do not comply with the law, do not believe in the rule of law, and lack a conscience could make this decision.

They cannot even be called drafts of judges. I will not be surprised if the AYM members who protect professional honor, defend the rule of law, and listen to their conscience are arrested!

Furthermore… The members of the Court of Cassation should first cleanse themselves of the shame of making a person who has no signature under any ruling a member of the Constitutional Court.
