New statement from AKP's Bursalı, who made headlines with a lobster feast: 'A road accident'

AKP İzmir MP Şebnem Bursalı's social media post featuring a photo of a lobster she ate in Monaco has become a major topic of discussion.

Bursalı faced a barrage of criticism from almost every segment of society, including her own party.

The AKP MP spoke to Sinan Burhan, Editor-in-Chief of the Millet News Agency, who was a guest on a live broadcast on tv100.

"I DID NOT USE PUBLIC FUNDS"

Burhan relayed that Bursalı told him, "I am sorry, I have apologized to the public. This was a road accident, it was a mistake. I did not use public funds."

Burhan used the following expressions:

"I spoke with Şebnem Bursalı; she did not provide any new or exclusive information, but I will share what we discussed. Ms. Şebnem is saddened by this matter.

As someone with many years of experience in this profession, she is upset to be in the news for such an incident. Politics has its consequences.

I also told Ms. Şebnem that this post was wrong. Bursalı said, 'I am sorry, I have apologized to the public. This was a road accident, it was a mistake. I did not use public funds.'"
