They tried to flee abroad by sailboat in İzmir: 10 FETÖ members captured
In international waters off the coast of the Urla district of İzmir, 10 FETÖ members attempting to flee illegally to Greece by sailboat were captured in an operation.
The Coast Guard Aegean Sea Regional Command and the İzmir MİT Regional Directorate, in coordination with the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command, conducted a joint operation targeting suspects identified as members of the FETÖ/PDY Armed Terrorist Organization who were attempting to flee illegally to Greece by sailboat.
In the operation carried out by 2 coast guard boats in international waters, 6.5 miles south of Tektaş Cape in Urla District, 11 suspects were captured inside a 16.3-meter-long, Turkish-flagged sailboat named 'EVENSTAR'.
Of the 11 suspects captured, 10 were taken into custody on charges of 'being a member of the FETÖ/PDY Armed Terrorist Organization and having a Decree-Law (KHK) record.'
On the other hand, it was stated that judicial proceedings regarding the captured suspects are ongoing.
