Number of individual applications to the Constitutional Court exceeds 551 thousand
Since the right to individual application was introduced on September 23, 2012, the Constitutional Court has concluded 422 thousand 16 out of 551 thousand 156 applications.
The Constitutional Court's individual application statistics for the period between September 23, 2012, and September 30, 2023, have been published on the institution's website.
Accordingly, 551 thousand 156 individual applications were made to the Constitutional Court during the specified period. The High Court, which has concluded 422 thousand 16 of these applications, reached a resolution rate of 76.6 percent. The number of pending cases was recorded as 129 thousand 140.
Of the concluded applications, the Constitutional Court issued inadmissibility decisions in 335 thousand 414 cases, ruled that at least one right was violated in 70 thousand 364 cases, and found no rights violation in 1 thousand 225 cases. The High Court issued other decisions in 1 thousand 570 cases and administrative rejection decisions in 13 thousand 443 cases.
Of the 71 thousand 484 applications in which the Constitutional Court ruled for one or more rights violations, 56 thousand 443 involved the right to be tried within a reasonable time.
The right to be tried within a reasonable time was followed by the right to a fair trial with 3 thousand 566 violation rulings, the violation of freedom of expression with 3 thousand 519, and violations of the right to property and other violation rulings with 3 thousand 508.
