Journalist Emrullah Erdinç made a statement regarding the claims that Dilan Polat attempted suicide after having a nervous breakdown in prison.
Erdinç stated that Polat had a nervous breakdown but did not attempt suicide.
Erdinç’s statement on the matter via his social media account is as follows:
"Dilan Polat had a nervous breakdown after returning to prison following the 5 hours she spent seeing her daughter at the hearing last Thursday. She harmed her body with her fingernails. Therefore, she spent the night in the infirmary. She returned to her ward the next day after medication treatment began. There is no question of her attempting suicide."
