Social media influencers Nihal Candan (Çiçek) and her sister Bahar Candan, who became famous after participating in a fashion program, have been detained.

It was learned that the suspects were apprehended as part of an investigation into qualified fraud and money laundering and were taken to the Public Security Branch Directorate.

Within the scope of the work carried out by the Istanbul Police Department Public Security Branch Directorate officers to apprehend suspects and clarify incidents related to the crime of "Qualified Fraud"; it was determined that the suspects, who claimed to sell vehicles cheaply through tenders from various state institutions across Turkey, gained the trust of the victims they ensnared by selling them cheap vehicles.

It was determined that they collected money by taking vehicle requests through this method.

THEY COLLECTED 10 MILLION TL

It was determined that the suspects, who collected approximately 10 million TL from 13 victims, did not provide any vehicle delivery and did not make refunds to the victims, claiming that there was a problem with the tender.

As a result of technical and physical surveillance, 6 suspects were apprehended and detained in an operation conducted on 03.05.2023; 5 of the individuals referred to judicial authorities were arrested and sent to a penal institution, while 1 was released.

In the ongoing work regarding the investigation; O.A., who was determined to be involved in and leading the organization, and Nihal Candan, Bahar Candan, and H.I.S., who were determined to be members of the organization, were apprehended and detained in an operation conducted on 14.11.2023.

During the questioning of the individuals, it was determined that they had numerous criminal records.

Birgün columnist Timur Soykan had written that, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the sisters Bahar and Nihal Candan were members of a criminal organization that defrauded many people using the "Sazan Sarmalı" (Carp Spiral) method.

In the criminal complaint, it was alleged that Nihal Candan was the girlfriend of the gang leader and that she and Bahar Candan were the secret treasurers of the organization.
