Advisor to detained CHP Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer speaks to 12punto: 'They took him as if he were an ordinary person'
It was announced that Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer had been detained. Cihan Güner, an advisor to the detained Özer, spoke to 12punto. Güner said, 'They took him as if they were detaining an ordinary person.'

Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer was detained at his home in the morning hours.
It was noted that the detention order was issued due to various investigations being conducted into the municipality in Esenyurt.
Searches were carried out at Özer's home and at the municipality.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that the investigation is aimed at identifying the members and activities of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization.
Özer was taken to the Vatan Police Headquarters as part of the detention.

Speaking exclusively to 12punto following the detention of CHP Mayor Ahmet Özer, Esenyurt Municipality Advisor Cihan Güner stated the following:
We have not yet received any information due to the confidentiality order on the investigation.
The detention took place in the morning hours. They took him as if he were an ordinary person. There were a large number of police officers present when Özer was being detained.
