İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener said, "We are not with those with 'demli' minds, and we will not be. We were not among those who raised their hands and said yes to the admission of Sweden—a country that burns the Quran and allows it to be burned, and treats the PKK like a political party—into NATO, and we will not be."

Akşener stated that they had gathered to introduce their candidates to the public at the party's candidate presentation program held at the Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Cultural Center in Erzurum.

Pointing out that they have fielded female candidates in Erzurum as well, following Adana, Antalya, and Samsun, Akşener said, "Our female candidates in this city are extremely ambitious women. Ms. Canan has been with us since the founding of the İYİ Party in Erzurum; she has been one who struggled, remained within the party, combined her dreams with our party and our Turkey, and believed that good things would happen in Turkey with the İYİ Party. She has never been one of those who became offended and insulted the party just because they could not realize those dreams. She has always taken on difficult tasks," she said.

"THE DUTY OF THE İYİ PARTY..."

Referring to the 2019 elections, Akşener said: "In 2023, Erzurum wanted Mr. Mansur, and the western regions wanted Mr. İmamoğlu; in other words, you wanted them. It is my duty to convey your voice. Our purpose for being founded is to make your voice heard. Our goal is to return this country to its founding settings and to develop this country. It is not to bow down before America, nor is it to vote for Sweden's admission to NATO. In this country, where everyone plays a role, the duty of the İYİ Party is to hold a mirror up to the faces of these frauds. Therefore, I brought the task you gave me to the Table of Six. In the end, our friends did not accept it, and we lost the 2023 election. I am not saying this one is guilty or that one is guilty; let all the fault be mine, I have no problem with that. But in 2019, if we shook hands and won the Istanbul and Ankara municipalities, the reason we showed the will to win these metropolitan cities, especially Istanbul and Ankara, and ran alongside them, was to change this freak system, this partisan presidential system, which we believed we could change. We could not win, we could not change it. Now we have made a decision. Since the moment we decided to enter the election freely and independently, we have faced a world of slander, insults, and filth." Stating that voters consider political parties a blessing, Akşener said, "The duty of the opposition is to hear you, make your voice heard by the government, make it the number one issue in public opinion, and produce solutions. We are doing this, but the main issue was to change the freak system. We said, can we achieve this by gathering within an alliance system? It didn't happen," she said.

Emphasizing that the local elections are important, Akşener noted: "If there are those speaking from a high horse, know that it means they have something to hide. Therefore, this time we will both win and act as a mirror to cast those who are crooked out of this system. We will hold a mirror to those who appear to be in opposition, who claim to be enemies of Mr. Erdoğan one-on-one, and who declare Mr. Erdoğan their primary enemy, but who are actually working for him and striving for the continuation of this system, and we will show these people to Turkey. We will put an end to fraud, trickery, and crookedness. We are not with those with 'demli' minds, and we will not be. We were not among those who raised their hands and said yes to the admission of Sweden—a country that burns the Quran and allows it to be burned, and treats the PKK like a political party—into NATO, and we will not be. We were not among those who bow down before the PKK and its current extensions, and we will not be." Following her speech, Akşener introduced her party's Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Fatma Canan Uçar, Palandöken mayoral candidate Ömer Özden, Narman mayoral candidate Yücel Ahmet İşleyen, İspir mayoral candidate Nizamettin Aras, Tortum mayoral candidate Cevdet Küçük, Uzundere mayoral candidate Salim Özdil, Çat mayoral candidate Muhammet Kaya, Şenkaya mayoral candidate Şentürk Alver, and Oltu mayoral candidate Erguhan Musaoğlu.
