Özgür Özel's ISIS outburst at the government: 'They released those who received 46 aggravated life sentences each'

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman and Socialist International Vice President Özgür Özel arrived in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, the day before yesterday to attend the Socialist International Council Meeting, which is held routinely every six months.

Özel, who first attended the Presidium Meeting, proposed that the next routine council meeting be held in Istanbul. Özel's proposal was accepted unanimously. Özel then addressed the participants at the Council Meeting.

Özel evaluated his contacts in Morocco to the ANKA News Agency and answered questions regarding the agenda.

“ERDOĞAN SHOULD MIND HIS OWN BUSINESS”

Regarding Erdoğan's criticisms of the CHP, Özel stated, "He should mind his own business. His job is to bring a smile to the faces of retirees, civil servants, workers, tradespeople, and farmers. He is doing his job very poorly, and then he turns around and interferes with our work. He is reciting old cliches. He is cursing at the CHP... These have no benefit to Turkish politics or to a tired, worn-out politician like Erdoğan. If he wants to create a revival, a comeback for himself, instead of trying to extract a victory from what is happening in Syria, he should try to extinguish the fire in the kitchen."

"89 POLITICAL PARTIES FROM 77 COUNTRIES WILL COME TO ISTANBUL"

Özel said the following:

"We are in Rabat, Morocco, for the council meeting. We were here with a high-level participation as the Turkish Delegation for the two-day meetings. As the CHP, we are participating in this meeting in two phases. One is the council meeting held with broad participation, and the other is the presidium meeting, which we can call the Board of Presidents. The meeting opened yesterday with the presidium meeting. We made a proposal and a call there, and we suggested that the next council meeting be held in Istanbul. This proposal of ours was adopted by Spanish Prime Minister and Socialist International President Pedro Sanchez and put to a vote. It was decided unanimously that the meeting would be held in Istanbul. In about six months, at the meeting for which we will announce the exact date after making the necessary consultations, 89 parties from 77 countries will come to Istanbul, and we will discuss all the problems in the world and how we can produce solutions to them from a leftist and social democratic perspective."

"WE WILL DISCUSS AN INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT MODEL TOGETHER IN ISTANBUL"

"It already has a shaping agenda. The United Nations (UN) also has a pact for the future regarding producing holistic solutions to global problems. This issue was discussed here with a report and will most likely be the main theme of the meeting in Istanbul. The main development, a new development model; we will discuss together in Istanbul an inclusive development model that values people, fights poverty, fights all kinds of discrimination, and defends both equality, democracy, and peace for everyone in the world."

SYRIA MESSAGE

"This meeting is taking place within a very hot agenda. Undoubtedly, it is an agenda that should never be abandoned, which I emphasized in every speech I made. It is necessary not to let people forget what is happening in Palestine and to draw the world's attention back to Palestine. While Israel continues its oppression in Palestine on one hand, it has drawn attention away from Palestine to Syria by dominating the newly emerging situation in Syria. Regarding Syria, we advocate for the establishment of a government and a democracy that encompasses all ethnic, sectarian, and religious structures living in Syria—that is, encompassing both Sunnis and Alawites, both Muslims and Christians, Turks, Turkmens, Arabs, and Kurds, and all structures together—and that this be done within the borders of Syria while preserving Syria's territorial integrity. Besides this, instead of having an approach of who wins and who loses in Syria, it is important to build a tomorrow where all of Syria wins. It is necessary not to allow vengeful approaches or sectarian approaches.

Or the CHP is running a campaign in 81 provinces and 976 districts saying, ‘Minimum wage 30, we are not below it.’ It is also running it in the neighborhoods and districts of those who listened to Erdoğan yesterday.
