CHP Presidential Candidate and Group Chairman Özgür Özel visited his party's Zonguldak Provincial Headquarters.

Özgür Özel made statements to members of the press there.

Criticizing CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu for meeting with 13 district heads from the DEVA Party, Özel stated, "The Chairman of a party like the CHP goes to meet with active district heads of a party we were in an alliance with, in the middle of the night and at an unknown address, and it drops like a bombshell into the middle of politics."

"I WOULD FEEL NOTHING BUT SHAME"

"And we learn that one of those from the DEVA Party who organized that meeting was promised a municipality currently held by the CHP," said Özel, adding the following:

"There is no benefit I would gain from a DEVA Party visit for the convention I have in a week, nor is there anything I would use at the convention. I would not feel hope from it; I would feel nothing but shame, because I am a CHP member.

The problem at this point is that the party is not abandoning its way of doing politics, but on the contrary, is becoming even more reckless. Otherwise, what happens every day is already another trouble, and our convention process will end soon. But if we do not set out with brand new staff and a brand new understanding in 10 days, if this party continues to be managed this poorly, we will be crying a lot more."

WHAT HAPPENED?

It was revealed that CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had met with 13 DEVA Party district heads last week.

It was alleged that in exchange for the 13 district heads resigning from their party, DEVA Party Esenyurt District Head Halis Kahriman would be given a mayoral candidacy.
