Ümit Özdağ's take on the '17-25 watch': There are no coincidences in Bahçeli's life

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ appeared on the "Kayıt Dışı" program on TELE1, hosted by journalists Özlem Gürses, Caner Taşpınar, Masum Gök, and Ersin Eroğlu, to make statements regarding the current agenda. Commenting on the reappearance of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's 17-25 December watch, Özdağ stated that this situation was not a coincidence and contained a message directed at the government.

'THERE ARE NO COINCIDENCES'

Emphasizing that nothing in Devlet Bahçeli's life is a coincidence, Ümit Özdağ said, "This cannot be a coincidence either. This situation is a message to the government. Bahçeli is a partner in the government, but he is not a partner to the same extent when it suffers damage. I think Erdoğan is uncomfortable with this form of partnership." Özdağ also expressed that the dismissal of police chiefs close to the MHP has disturbed the MHP and that this situation has created tension.

'RETURN TO PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM MAY BEGIN'

Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ stated that Turkey is experiencing a major crisis and that the need for an early general election has arisen, noting that a return to a parliamentary system could come to the agenda, and added the following:

"In this process, Özgür Özel will come to the fore as the leader of the opposition, and if a return to the parliamentary system takes place, he could be a candidate for prime minister. Ekrem İmamoğlu and Mansur Yavaş would continue in their current roles."

'COALITION WITH MHP MAY END'

Özdağ added that a parliamentary democracy would save Erdoğan from the 51 percent vote threshold and could end the coalition formed with the MHP. Stating that a parliamentary system could increase the ruling party's chances of staying in power with fewer votes, Özdağ expressed that major changes could occur in Turkey's current political structure.
