According to a statement from the US Department of State, Blinken, speaking on Jake Tapper's program on CNN, answered the question, "Are the Israelis telling you anything about when this phase will end? Because the civilian death toll is mounting?"

Regarding the attacks on Gaza, Blinken stated, "We are talking to Israel about the process and how it is being conducted," adding, "These are decisions for Israel to make."

When asked by Tapper, "But if the situation (in Gaza) continues for months, not days or weeks, will the US continue to support Israel in the way it is currently supporting it?" Blinken replied, "Again, Israel has to make those decisions."

Blinken said, "We will not have a lasting peace and we will not have lasting security for Israel unless the political aspirations of the Palestinians are met."

IT WAS CLAIMED THAT A DEADLINE WAS GIVEN UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR

According to the US-based publication Politico, the administration of US President Joe Biden had given Israel a deadline until the end of the year to end its attacks on Gaza.

It was also stated that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized this deadline during his visit to Israel, where he arrived in Tel Aviv on November 30.

On the other hand, a report by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) stated that during his visit, Blinken assessed within the Israeli war cabinet that "the attacks should end in weeks, not months."
