First statement from Ukraine regarding the attack in Russia

In a written statement from the ministry, reactions were expressed regarding claims by some Russian officials that Ukraine was involved in the terrorist attack in question.

The following statements were used in the ministry's announcement:

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine categorically rejects the accusations by Russian officials that Ukraine was involved in the armed attack on the Crocus City Hall concert venue near Moscow."

In the statement, which characterized the accusations against their country as a "Kremlin provocation," the following was noted:

"We view such accusations as a planned provocation by the Kremlin to further fuel anti-Ukrainian hysteria in Russian society, to create conditions for the increased mobilization of Russian citizens to participate in criminal aggression against our state, and to discredit Ukraine in the eyes of the world."

The statement, which accused Russian special services of having previously organized "bloody provocations" in the country, assessed that, "Putin's dictatorship has no red lines. Just as it has killed thousands of peaceful Ukrainians as a result of missile attacks, artillery shelling, and torture in the war against Ukraine, it is prepared to kill its own citizens for political purposes."

The ministry called on the international community to assist Ukraine.
