The 'Yargı' series, which has been airing on Kanal D for three seasons, won the 'Telenovela' award at the 51st International Emmy Awards held this year.

While some citizens on social media appreciated this success, others commented that this award might be a coincidence.

Cinema and television critic Kerem Akça evaluated Yargı's Emmy win for 12punto.

'NOT A COINCIDENCE'

Akça stated, "Ay Yapım has proven that it is a global company in terms of series production. It is not a coincidence that Yargı also won an award after Kara Sevda. It is a sign of consistency. We hope that Kerem Çatay's international connections will also bring an award to the 2nd season of Şahsiyet next year.

By the way, being chosen as 'Best Actor' at the 2019 Emmy Awards was also a well-deserved success," he said.

WHAT IS THE PLOT OF YARGI?

Ceylin is a fearless lawyer who knows no boundaries when it comes to rules. Life has tested her early; she has been the pillar of her family in the absence of her father, who was recently released from prison. She has tried to support her mother and siblings in her own way and has had to learn to fight the harsh conditions of life on her own.

Because she believes her father was wrongly accused, she is secretly angry, which is why she practices her profession according to her own rules. One day, she crosses paths with prosecutor Ilgaz to obtain information about a client through illegal means. However, unlike Ceylin, Ilgaz has strict rules regarding professional ethics; that is why he is a very successful and respected prosecutor in his career.

Moreover, his father Metin, who is also respected and shown as a credit to his profession, works as the head of the homicide bureau at the Istanbul Police Department. Ilgaz learned and adopted all principles such as honesty, honor, and respect from his father. He promised both Metin and himself that he would practice his profession based on these principles throughout his life.

For this reason, Ceylin and Ilgaz experience a major conflict and find themselves at odds. However, when Ilgaz encounters a murder case in which his brother Çınar, who is very different from him and constantly gets into trouble, is accused of being a murderer, he has to break his own rules for the first time. He asks Ceylin to defend his brother; because in this case, where all signs point to his brother, he needs Ceylin's lack of boundaries.

From this point on, things take a turn that neither of them could have predicted. While Ilgaz and Ceylin work to clear Çınar's name, they will find themselves in a web of mystery that extends to both of their families.
