Mazhar Alanson's statement on Özkan Uğur: 'We didn't hold the concert too early'
Özkan Uğur, a member of MFÖ, passed away on July 8, 2023, at the hospital where he was receiving treatment. Mazhar Alanson and Fuat Güner took the stage in Bostancı last month for the first time without their close friend. Alanson made a statement regarding the widely discussed remarks made by Özkan Uğur's wife, Aysun Aslan Uğur, about the concert. Alanson said, "We held the concert solely to commemorate Özkan."

Mazhar Alanson had dinner with advertiser Ali Taran at a fish restaurant in Tarabya the other evening.
Speaking about Özkan Uğur, with whom he shared the stage for many years, the artist remembered his late close friend by saying, "You cannot imagine how many times a day I remember Özkan. It hasn't passed, and it won't. Özkan was a very cheerful person, like a nightingale. The pain is still fresh. His absence and the void he left still challenge us."
'GREAT COURAGE!'
Following the concert they gave with Fuat Güner at the Bostancı Show Center in recent weeks, the words of Özkan Uğur's wife, Aysun Aslan Uğur, "I didn't know either, I learned it from the media. I said 'great courage,' bravo, I mean," had been reflected in the press.
'SHE SAID SHE DID NOT MAKE SUCH A STATEMENT'
According to the report in Milliyet, when reminded of Aysun Hanım's much-discussed statement, Mazhar Alanson said, "Aysun Hanım said, 'I didn't say that.' We didn't actually hold the concert too early. We did it to commemorate Özkan. We spoke with Aysun Hanım herself, and she said she did not make such a statement."
