1 in 2 people are hopeless, for 8 in 10 the biggest problem is making a living
The latest research by Ipsos Turkey has X-rayed the social impacts of high inflation. The feeling of unhappiness in society is on a rapid rise.

According to the "What Worries the World" survey, which Ipsos has been conducting in 29 countries for 10 years, inflation has been the biggest source of global concern for over two years. According to the July 2024 results, Turkey is the country most concerned about inflation.
According to the report by Şehriban Kıraç from Cumhuriyet; 6 out of every 10 people think their economic situation will be worse in the near future. The rate of those who think Turkey will be worse off in 10 years is 44 percent. The EU, C1 SES group, women, and individuals over 55 are more hopeless in this regard. One in every two people has no expectations for the future, and the rate of those who are hopeful is only 16 percent.
YOUNG PEOPLE WANT TO ESCAPE
Dissatisfaction is even more widespread among young people. 8 out of every 10 young people in the 18-24 age group evaluate the state of the economy as bad, and more than half think the economy will get even worse. 27 percent of young people want to live in another country.
In Turkey, 80 percent of society is in search of peace and happiness. The desire to find cures for diseases and to have a good profession is also at the forefront. Pointing out the importance of consumer confidence in fighting the economic crisis, Gedik stated that in January 2022, 40 percent of consumers thought the economic crisis would last at least 3 years, and this rate rose to 51 percent in January 2024 and to 54 percent in May.
