Following the emergence of footage on social media showing a car driver sexually harassing a cyclist he was following on the Kartal coastal road, police teams launched an investigation.
As a result of the examination of the footage, 55-year-old E.N.K., whose identity was determined, was taken into custody.
The suspect, who was determined to be working as a driver, claimed in his statement that he is a professional driver, that he did not specifically follow the cyclist, that he did not commit harassment, and that he only honked his horn. He also alleged that there was another woman in the vehicle who was not visible in the video because she was hiding in the back. It was reported that the investigation into the suspect for the crimes of "indecent exposure and sexual harassment" is ongoing.
According to information obtained by 12punto; it was revealed that the owner of the vehicle is Mehmet Başaran, a former AK Party Gebze Municipal Council member.
It was noted that the person who was masturbating in the vehicle was Başaran's driver and that he was handed over to the police by Başaran.
